BDM, specialists in worldwide logistics for the beauty industry, required a full lighting and electrical upgrade to support its expanding operations. The goal was to create a sustainable, efficient, and compliant electrical infrastructure that could handle current and future demands.
Project Brief
ECO UK Group was selected to deliver a lighting and electrical solution covering:
- LV mains and sub-distribution systems
- High-performance Pegasus LED warehouse lighting
- Emergency lighting compliant with BS5266
- Dedicated power supplies for HVAC, machinery, and office facilities
- A future-proof design to accommodate operational growth
Scope of Works
Containment & Cable Management
Eco UK Group supplied and installed over 1,500m of ladder racks, trays, and basket for power, lighting, HVAC, and data cabling. This infrastructure ensures long-term durability and simplified maintenance.
LV & Mains Distribution Upgrades
Our electrical installation included:
- New 400A sub-distribution panels with individual metering
- 16-way and 12-way TPN distribution boards to serve operational zones
- Specialist supplies for MHE charging, sprinkler systems, and HVAC plant
Energy-Efficient Warehouse Lighting
Using our Pegasus high-bay LED lighting, we provided:
- 1,516m of 4-pole busbar for lighting distribution
- 221 LED fittings with occupancy sensors and dimmable functionality
- 58 emergency light fittings with key-switch test facility
This system delivers maximum illumination with reduced energy costs.
Warehouse Power Infrastructure
Dedicated Circuits for material handling equipment, packing bench stations and sprinkler control system were installed for operational efficiency
HVAC Power Provision
We delivered complete electrical provision for the air handling units, fan coil units, destratification fans, and HVAC control systems, enabling effective climate control across the warehouse.
Office Power & Communications
The new comms room was fitted with dedicated AC and data supplies, dado trunking, and separate power circuits for both security and general office use.
Sustainability & Compliance
All works were carried out to BS7671, BS5266, and BS5839 standards. The installation reduces energy use through LED technology, HVAC time controls, and efficient power distribution.
